Presidential interviews have happened in Kenyan media. None has ever been conducted by a journalist with a disability. Debatable is built to change that in public, on camera, with a media partner who saw it coming.
This is not a criticism of Kenyan media. Great political journalism happens here every week, inside institutional constraints Debatable simply does not have. The show is additive. It opens the floor rather than correcting a failure.
The citizenship framing is about understanding rather than action. Viewers are equipped to read what is being communicated to them. They are not mobilised to confront anyone.
